The Amos-6 Satellite, scheduled to be launched in late 2016, will be located at the orbital position over Africa @ 4°W, providing a full range of Satellite services. The AMOS-6 offers pan-Africa coverage, featuring three high-power Ku-Band beams and 36 HTS Ka-band spot beams. With multiple Ku and Ka-band transponders and with an excellent look angle, Amos-6 offer a variety of Satcom services, including:
- VSAT communications and broadband Internet
- Telephony services
- Data trunking
- Cellular backhaul
- Direct-To-Home (DTH) TV broadcasting
- Video distribution
The co-location of the AMOS satellites a the 4° West orbital location provides in-orbit satellite redundancy, enabling backup capabilities and high service reliability.
