Astra 4 is a high-powered satellite which is owned and operated by SES. This satellite has 54 Ku-Band transponders and 3 Ka-Band primarily serving digital TV, digital radio and other multimedia services to Europe and Africa.

Launched in November 2007, Astra 4A at 5.0°E is a major source of TV and radio channels and multimedia services for parts of Europe. The satellite can reach most parts of the continent, this position is primarily used for channels broadcast to the countries of Central and Northern Europe, specifically the Nordic region.
