Express AM6 (53° East)

The Express AM6 satellite was manufactured by JSC “Academician. F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems” (Russia) in cooperation with Radio Research and Development Institute (Russia) and MDA corporation (Canada). The satellite was launched into orbit on October 21, 2014. 

The commercial operation of the satellite started in April 2015. Located at a key orbital position of 53°E, the AM6 provides Ku and C-Band services across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia. 

The satellite is due to have an operational life of 15 years, and comprises of 14 C-Band, 44 Ku-Band and 12 Ka-Band transponders.
