Satellite Mediaport Services is committed to developing and investing in new facilities. We’ve recently developed a new Network Operations Centre that will help us better serve our clients by using the latest state-of-the-art systems.
This facility helps us accommodate more people and include more advanced monitoring and control systems. We’re utilising our previous Network Operations Centre as a backup to ensure business continuity.
New technology
The new SMS NOC features the latest state of the art monitoring systems that incorporate remote control capabilities, including Skyline Dataminer System and PRTG. The upgraded hardware and the advanced and intuitive technology allow for higher performance of the centre and enable high IP Network, Broadcast and RF visibility.

When it comes to SMS, people really do come first; our team is client-focused and we take good care of both our personnel and our customers.
People are the heart of the NOC. SMS employs a highly trained and skilled team of experienced engineers manning the on-site NOC 24/7/365, with a wealth of experience in RF, Network and Digital Video Broadcasting.
When it comes to customer service, we offer a personal touch. When an issue is detected, whether by a customer or by our proactive methods, highly trained engineers with hands-on experience will deal with it directly. Instead of a call centre that escalates issues, our customers get engineers with knowledge and experience with various HUB technologies, such as iDirect, Comtech, Newtec, UHP, Harmonic, Appear TV and so on.
Bigger, better, more secure
The new centre is located in the former nuclear bunker, it’s much bigger and can accommodate more people on shift. The new NOC features a test bench and a dedicated training area, and due to the greater visibility and proximity to the centre of the site, it has even quicker response times.
